The 5 Days Chimpanzee and Gorilla Safari Tour entails a unique ultimate Uganda Primates experience consisting of chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park, a home of over 1,500 chimpanzees with other 12 primates such as red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys among then Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. A safari to Kibale Forest National Park features a memorable up-close face to face interface with the chimpanzees that are the closest mankind relatives upholding 98% of human DNA with their social, intelligent and communication skills during Chimpanzee trekking and a scenic safari visit for the mountain gorillas within the forested hills of Kisoro in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a prime destination for gorilla trekking in Uganda and a renowned haven for the endangered primates holding over half of the world’s Primates population within its boundaries. Detailed travel Package

Day 1: Pick up from hotel in Kampala/Entebbe International Airport and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

Pick up from the hotel in Kampala/Entebbe Airport by our tour guide/drive with a briefing about the tour and transfer to Fort Portal, land of primates Kibale Forest National Park in about 5 to 6 hours’ drive from Kampala. Relaxation and Lunch in Fort Portal then proceed to Kibale Forest National Park. Upon arrival, we will clear with the necessary entrance fees, check-in at the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.

Early in the morning after breakfast at the lodge, our tour guide shall pick you up and transfer you to the Park headquarters in Kanyanchu for a briefing about the do’s and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking then you will head out to the jungle with a park ranger to do chimpanzee trekking where you will spend time observing primates and chimps in particular in their natural habitats with 1 hour grant for up close interface and photo taking thereafter the park ranger will guide you back to the starting point. Relaxation and lunch at the lodge. Later in the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, home to variety of birds and primate species which will take you amazingly 2 hours thrilling the 4.5 KM long swamp walk. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park from Kibale Forest National Park.

Get up in the morning, climax your stay in Kibale Forest National Park with a delicious breakfast and check-out of the lodge. Later embark on a journey which is approximately 369km via Mbarara-Kasese route in about 6 to 7 hours’ drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a prime destination for gorilla trekking. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Early morning Gorilla Trekking and afternoon Batwa Pygmies visit in Bwindi.

Early morning after breakfast at the lodge, you will be picked up by our tour guide in 4by4 vehicle and head out to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking that usually starts around 7am Uganda’s time within any of Bwindi’s four sectors that’s Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo. After briefing at the park headquarters, you will be assigned a park ranger leading you to assigned gorilla family in the jungle. Gorilla trekking usually takes about 50 minutes to half day depending on the viability of your assigned gorilla family of which upon sighting the gorilla family, you will be allowed not more than one hour of close encounter with the mountain gorillas for up close interaction and photo taking then you will be issued a gorilla tracking certificate. After you will return back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later sometime in the afternoon, you will head out for a visit to the Batwa Pygmy people within their communities to learn about their culture and traditional practices like their traditional dances. To experience the Batwa indigenous people known as keepers of the forest or Hunter-gather tribe, you with start with a nature walk, hikes through the forest using Batwa Trails. After return back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe Airport for flights back home.

Conclude your stay by exiting Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park after a relaxed delicious breakfast and check-out at the lodge then embark on a journey back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport with lunch-stop on the way.
